Года три-четыре назад я спрашивал у специалистов какие книги почитать о Гражданской войне. Мне рекомендовали Какурина как описание боевых действий (с красной стороны) и Веллера/Буковского для понимания "что вообще происходило".
"Безумная история...", на мой взгляд, отлично справляется именно с описанием всего клубка событий, их взаимосвязей.Таких книг особо-то и не было. С красной позиции написать такую книгу невозможно, т.к. всплывают совершенно для красных неприемлемые вещи, а что было написано с белых или национальных (хотя, с национальной позиции описать ВСЮ войну, наверное, невозможно) позиций мы не знаем. Но, конечно, стилистика Веллера иногда вгоняет в ступор. Чего стоят только предложения из одной буквы...
